Guesthouse Sunna is one of the best apartment hotels in Reykjavik. It is located by the tallest church in Iceland – the Hallgrímskirkja.
You can choose rooms and apartments with either the following – inner courtyard view, city view, mountain or landmark views. During my stay, I opted for a room with views of the church – and it was amazing waking up to it!
The rooms are simple, spacious, and clean. They have private or shared bathroom facilities. All have free Wi-Fi, while some have a TV, a fridge, a tea/coffee maker, and access to a communal kitchen.
You can opt for (paid) breakfast, or head over to the near Cafe Loki for a meal!
The front desk is open during some hours of the day, and they can assist with ticket and tour services. The staff was very friendly and helpful!

The hotel rooms are spacious for two, and you can also book larger studios and family suites with kitchens and private washrooms.
We loved staying here during our very first trip to Iceland. Their rooms are clean and beautiful, and well equipped with modern amenities. Each kitchen also has an electric cooker and microwave.
You will love the rooftop terrace of the building – it has a hot tub and offers panoramic views of the city of Reykjavik and Faxaflói Bay.
The only thing to keep in mind is that there is no parking included at this apartment hotel. You will have to consider street parking, or book tours to get to attractions on the South Coast and beyond.
There are tourist pick-up points located super close to the hotel, making it super easy to plan your sightseeing (without a car)!
